HUMAN RIGHTS PROMOTION: NHRCN/NA Collaborate to Ensure Respect, Protection of Human Rights


 

Adamawa State office of the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria has been assured of the 23rd Brigade’s commitment to partnering the Commission towards the promotion and protection of human rights in the operations of the Brigade.

 

Brigadier General Amechi Agwu, the Acting Commander Sector 4 Operation ‘Hadin Kai’, and Commander 23rd Brigade, made this known via a press statement released by Captain Olusegun Abidoye, the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Officer, pointing out that this happened when Grace Mamza, the Adamawa State Acting Coordinator of the Adamawa State office of the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria paid a visit to the 23rd Brigade.

   

Brigadier General Amechi Agwu revealed the significance and relevance of the Commission in their operations, appreciating the Commission’s Acting Coordinator Grace Mamza for curving time out of her tied schedules to visit the Brigade.

 

Brigadier General Agwu pledged to ensure sustainability in the existing good working relations between the Sector and the Commission, promising to welcome all constructive criticisms – as long as they are meant for the overall success of their operations. 

 

Grace Mamza, while responding, also appreciated the Sector 4 Operation ‘Hadin Kai’, and 23rd Brigade for the warm reception, as well as the efforts in elevating on the current synergy existing between the two organizations.

 

Mamza who emphasized that she is at the 23rd Brigade to familiarize herself with the Acting Commander Sector 4 Operation ‘Hadin Kai’, and Commander 23rd Brigade, also to intimate him on the Commission’s activities in the State for the promotion and protection of rights of all manner of citizens – distancing the Commission from witch hunt.
