The Member
representing Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency, Rep. Kwamoti, hosted
members of the One Vision, One Mission Youth Support Movement, comprising youths
from the constituency resident in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), during a
solidarity visit to commend his performance and reaffirm their support for his
developmental agenda.
During the
interactive session, the lawmaker discussed key issues affecting young people,
including employment, education, entrepreneurship, leadership, and community
development. He urged the youths to embrace entrepreneurship by taking
advantage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), digital
innovation, and other emerging opportunities to become job creators and drivers
of economic growth, rather than relying solely on public sector employment.
Rep. Kwamoti
also gave participants insights into the workings of the National Assembly,
emphasizing that legislative experience and continuity are essential for
attracting sustainable development. He noted that more than 90 percent of his
constituency interventions have focused on education, youth empowerment, and
critical infrastructure, describing education as the foundation of long-term
development.
The meeting
reviewed the security situation in Lamurde and neighbouring communities, with
participants acknowledging the efforts of government, security agencies,
traditional institutions, and other stakeholders in restoring peace. They also
called for stronger communication between the Representative's office and
constituents through regular media briefings, community outreach, and enhanced
social media engagement.
The youth
leaders pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization and civic engagement in
support of quality representation and democratic development across the
constituency.
Speaking on
behalf of the group, the movement's leader, Prince Richard Christopher, praised
Rep. Kwamoti for what he described as exemplary leadership and impactful
representation, saying his interventions have significantly improved lives
across Demsa, Numan, and Lamurde. He urged constituents to continue supporting
the lawmaker to sustain the progress achieved.
In his closing
remarks, Rep. Kwamoti reaffirmed his commitment to youth inclusion, quality
education, improved security, social development, and people-centred
representation, pledging to continue working with youth groups, community
leaders, and other stakeholders to advance the development of the constituency.
