BINOS RAMADAN GIVE-AWAY: Nine LGAs of Adamawa South benefit from food stuff

Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe of the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District has called on Muslims to use this period of Ramadan and pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity and harmony.

The Senator made the call when he presided over the distribution of 4,856 bags of rice, 2,000 bags of sugar, 2,000 bags of spaghetti and 246 gallons of cooking oil to the less privileged and vulnerable across the 9 Local Governments of the zone to ease hardships in rural communities as Muslims’ Ramadan period unfolds.

Represented by Adiyel Kurga, Senator Yaroe pointed out that people have been passing through difficult situations in this country due to the high cost of living, especially now that Muslims are fasting.

‘We are here with this able committee from all the nine LGAs selected to take up the responsibility of carrying these goods to the intended beneficiaries within the nine LGAs of the Adamawa Southern Senatorial District. The sharing formula has already been completed, and each LGA is going to take its consignments with the sharing formula reflecting each unit of the wards we have in the Southern Senatorial District. We have already worked out the modality – the working paper of the sharing formula that each committee should be charged with the responsibility of doing working with it accurately.’

Jada Coordinator, Yosi Isaiah Leru, said effective mechanisms were put in place which would make a smooth path to reach out to the beneficiaries without difficulties, adding that each of the 9 LGAs have three Coordinators that will further oversee the distribution.

Leru noted that Senator Yaroe is committed and determined to ensure he enhances the livelihoods of his constituents, especially the less privileged and the physically challenged, adding that the give-away was to cushion the hardship being faced by his constituents now that the Month of Ramadan was halfway.

‘In fact, that is why this time around we are going to do the sharing formula to people that have not benefited before. These items are going directly to those aged and vulnerable people in the communities. If you have given a vulnerable person this bag of rise, I belief he wants to use it at home. But if you go and give it to somebody who doesn’t have a need on it, definitely he will take it to the market. So what we are going to do this time around is to make sure that those people that are really in need – the aged, the vulnerable and the physically challenged people are the ones we are going to consider more in sharing these items.’

Shelleng Coordinator, Maryamu Isa Shelleng, commended Senator Yaroe for seeing that there is a transparency in the distribution process, where she assured the Senator that all the items would be judiciously distributed as instructed by him.

According to Maryamu, each ward in Shelleng is entitled to 50 bags of rice to be shared among the aged and the less privileged irrespective of political and tribal backgrounds, adding that to ensure smooth facilitation of the food items to all wards across the 9 LGAs, certain amount of money has been allocated to each LGA Coordinator for transportation and logistics to enable them convey the food stuff to the targeted beneficiaries.

‘The first strategy we made was to ensure the items are secured. When those items reach the destination, it is our desire to ensure that they reach all corners of Shelleng, and we are sure that is exactly what is going to happen, because if you are trustworthy, you must prove that to the world as the donor desires that let the items go round the communities. Our Senator has done all for us, right from medications, grinding machines, sewing machines, wrappers and in fact everything worthy of giving to people Senator Binos has given us. He also makes a provision for charging phones. May God continue to guide and protect Senator Binos for the Adamawa South people.’

This is just among the series of such empowerments and interventions by Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe for his people at the Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zone. Virtually, Senator Yaroe has touched all sectors of human endeavour with empowerment, that is why some of his friends called him The Silent Achiever because he always admits that he is not doing this to be commended, neither is he looking for anything. But as people who trusted their votes in him and gave him their mandate, he must do all within his capacity to ensure they have all kinds of the democratic dividends at their door steps as Thank You to them.
