JIBWIS ANNUAL DISBURSEMENT: 3,000 orphans get cash, food stuff & wrappers/yards

 Orphans’ Care Committee of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah in Adamawa State has flagged-off its 16^th Annual Sallah Basket Disbursement for the year 1446/2025 to the 3,000 orphans earmarked as beneficiaries of the exercise, under the leadership of the National Chairman of the organization, Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau.

In his address of welcome, the Chairman, Adamawa State JIBWIS Orphans’ Care Committee, Dr. Bashir Imam Aliyu, explained that they screened orphans in more than 1000 households, issuing them a 5-year duration card for recognition and identification. 

Dr. Aliyu appreciates parents and guardians of the orphans for the efforts put in place in upbringing the children, warning against mismanagement of the orphans’ resources, noting that those engage in such an ugly act should immediately stop and give them back their belongings.

‘Today, we did not call all the beneficiaries that we are through with their screening because we are just flagging-off the disbursement today. We just called a reasonable number of them to kick start the exercise. Probably, from time to time or daily as agreed upon, we are going to give out to certain numbers of the orphans. This is because we don’t want to invite everyone and at the end of the day not all can get their own, coupled with the economic realities of the day.’

The National Chairman, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah, Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, commended the committee for the technical know-how on handling and managing orphans’ activities and welfare in Adamawa state, emphasizing that what they do attracts huge reward from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’atala, urging them to endure all forms of distractions from their main assignment of planning and implementation for the benefit of Adamawa orphans.

 Bala Lau called on women and youths to venture into trades of their choices so as to trim down dependency which in turn gives them the ability and courage to ensure good upbringing to their children. 

‘As you will not like your children to suffer intimidation, harassment and maltreatment in the hands of other people or relatives after you passes on, take care of those orphans under your care. Certainly Allah will guide and take care of your children when you are no more. I am calling on our youths and women, please find something to do instead of idleness. Stories from our Correctional Centres are not encouraging as most of the inmates there are found to be Muslims. It is a duty on all of us to train our children and wards so as they become reasonable and responsible members of our society.’

Adamawa State Chairman, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah, Alhaji Sahabo Magaji posited that assisting orphans is to be encouraged, however, upbringing them to become responsible members of the society is another factor worthy of consideration, regretting how Muslims overflow correctional centers, noting that such signals bad upbringing which requires reversal.

Magaji appreciates the Adamawa JIBWIS Orphans Care Committee for excellent work for the orphans, calling on parents to ensure good moral upbringing of their children and wards, frowning at the instance where Muslim youths are found without any form of work as a source of money for their daily needs, relating that to the unfortunate rise in criminal activities perpetrated by Muslim youths in the state.    

‘I was actually touched by this event which opened up my heart more towards assisting our orphans. This is so particularly when the Orphans Care Committee Chairman Dr. Bashir Imam Aliyu was presenting his address of welcome, where the emotions could not allow him conclude his address. It is a fact that all of us here are not aware of when, where or how to die, or when our children will die. It is even better to always be on alert so that our expectations may not be shattered.’

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Sadiya Mahmud Balaraba, thanks the Adamawa JIBWIS Orphans Care Committee for extending the gesture to them, appreciating all those who contributed in whatever means that culminated in the disbursement.

Balaraba promised to use the items given to them for the reasons identified by their donors, calling on other wealthy spirited Muslims personalities to emulate the Adamawa JIBWIS Orphans Care Committee to ensure large number of orphans benefit from such disbursement.

‘We lacked the correct words to appreciate JIBWIS. However, this is to show our gratitude to the Orphans Care Committee for resisting all pressures to see this day and deliver. May Allah reward you and anyone who contributed towards the disbursement abundantly. Fellow women, let us not give the devil a chance to act contrary to the laid down rules by Allah regarding care for the orphans. Let us show love to orphans under our care so that Allah will show love to our children when we are no more.’    

Three thousand orphans were screened and registered, however, after a while, they are going to be moved to another programme as a sort of graduation to give way for registering another set of orphans.
