The Senator
representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District, Binos Dauda Yaroe has
commended journalists in the state for positively reporting all his
empowerments, interventions and other Senatorial developmental projects within
the nine local government areas of the zone.
Addressing
journalists and other media practitioners at a special interactive session he
organized in Yola, Senator Binos Yaroe posited that the support and cooperation
he enjoys from journalists in all his political activities and interventions are
worthy of note and commendation as well, expressing hope for the sustainability
of such a gesture to all his future political endeavours.
‘Perhaps
at a forum like this, it might be important to mention one or two things that I
have been pushing or focusing on. Everybody knows that I am the ‘Baba Mai Jinya
Kyauta’, you know, because of the medical outreaches I have been carrying out,
I have been conducting. The most recent one was the one-day outreach with the
mobile hospital in Borrong, in Demsa Local Government. Yesterday, I was in
Borrong to see His Majesty, the Murum Mbula, and he commended me, and he
expressed the gratitude of his people for that outreach.’
Senator Yaroe who
is also passionate on intervening in areas like portable water in most of the
rural communities in the district, revealed that they have sank and installed
over thirty bore-holes across the Adamawa Southern Senatorial region to ease
water related challenges.
‘…and
one of the things I do is to make sure that these projects – it is not enough
for me to go and sink a bore-hole in a community and just commission it, and forget
about it. Every year, I would send out a team of water engineers to go round
all the bore-holes that I have installed, to check and see that they are
functioning very well. If they are not, they will give me a cost of what is
required to put them back to operations.’
Regarding his political
moves and ambitions for the 2027 general elections, Senator Yaroe debunks all
social media contents relating him to the Adamawa State number one seat.
‘I can
tell you for free that I am not going to run for the Governorship position. You
can take that and run with it. I am not running for Governorship position. If you
see a list with my name in it, that list was not authorized by me. If my
constituents find me worthy, it is my intention to seek re-election to go back
to the Senate. My experience had shown me that the longer you stay in the
Senate, the more you will know the working of the Senate, the more you get
certain benefits, then the easier for you find ways and press one or two
buttons for the benefit of your people.’
Responding to
questions on crisis within the PDP particularly with the position of the PDP
Governors on coalition or merger for the next political circle, the Adamawa
Southern Senator states his stand.
‘If developments
take place that requires or makes it imperative for PDP to change its
structure, to change its set up, to go into either alliance or coming together with
other groups or parties, if that is the decision of the majority of members of
PDP, especially in my state, and at my Senatorial district, of course, I will go
with what my people desire.’
Concerning whether
there are other bills the Senator had sponsored apart from that of the Federal
University of Education, Numan, which is about to be resubmitted after President
Bola Ahmed Tinubu refused to sign due to certain errors, Binos Dauda Yaroe
responded that…
‘Indeed,
I have sponsored a number of bills, for example, I looked at the plights of the
retired Police Officers, Policemen, and I sponsored a bill for the removal of
the Police pension from the contributory pension scheme into their own separate
scheme. I also sponsored a bill on amendment of the electoral act because the
act was passed in the 9th Senate in a way that shortchanged
statutory delegates. I have also sponsored a constitutional amendment bill to
require Mr. President to when submitting list of his ministerial nominees, also
to attach their portfolios.’
To many
journalists and speakers at the interactive session, Senator Binos Yaroe is in
the first row of political office holders – if not the only one - who
periodically invites journalists to appreciate their support in covering as
well as disseminating information regarding his activities and achievements for
the Adamawa Southern Senatorial people.
