KWAMOTI BITRUS LAORI DISTRIBUTES RAMADAN FOOD/NON-FOOD ITEMS TO MUSLIM CONSTITUENTS

The Member representing Numan, Lamurde and Demsa Federal Constituency, and Chairman House Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, Barrister Kwamoti Bitrus Laori, has called on Muslims to use this Ramadan period to fervently pray for peace, unity and progress of Adamawa State and Nigeria as a country.

Represented by the Commissioner for Rural Infrastructure, Mr. Titus Solomon, Kwamoti B. Laori made the call while presiding over the distribution of food and non-food items he supplied to Muslims in the three LGAs of the constituency for the Ramadan.

He explained that Ramadan is a period when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs; where giving out food and food items to the needy is highly encouraged and rewarding in both here and here-after.

‘Kwamoti Bitrus Laori has decided to assist Muslim friends and relations in the constituency so as to fulfil one of their major religious obligations with less survival challenges. We are urging you to show maturity and patience especially to those that the intervention may not reach their hands. We all know the items cannot go round to all Muslims in this constituency. However, to those that may get the items, please use them in accordance with the reason for giving them out. To those that may not get the Ramadan intervention, please exercise patience; tomorrow is another day.’

Adamawa State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. James Iliya, appreciated Kwamoti B. Laori for touching the lives of his constituents at this trying moment, revealing that Ramadan is one of the holiest months in Islam, observed by millions of Muslims worldwide, adding that it holds deep spiritual, moral, and social significance.

‘The big message to the Member is to appreciate him for this effort. We are calling on the representatives of the Muslim community from the three LGAs to fear God and distribute the items strictly to those fasting because the items were provided mainly for them. Same gesture would be extended to Christians when the time for Christians’ fasting comes. To the beneficiaries, please use the food stuff in your houses to fulfil the motive behind the gesture.’

Commissioner 4 at the Adamawa State Civil Service Commission, Patience Hamadu, commended Kwamoti Laori for the gesture, describing the act as very relevant and significant, positing that giving out food or food items during fasting period is highly encouraged, noting that it reflects generosity, compassion, and the spirit of oneness.

‘Realizing the commencement of Ramadan, the Member decided to assist our relatives who are Muslims for them to taste his generosity in this section too; we are greatfull to the Member. Just like the Commissioner had mention, the recipients here should do justice and ensure Muslims are the beneficiaries of the gesture. Not only that, but also remember to pray for Kwamoti Laori whenever they make use of the food items.’

Speaking on behalf of the three chairmen in the constituency, the Chairman of Lamurde, Mr. Bulus Daniel, disclosed that they have nothing much to say rather than seeking additional prayers for Kwamoti Laori because of the religious and humanitarian gesture he has been doing for the people of Numan, Lamurde and Demsa Federal Constituency.

‘This act by our mentor is certainly from God. Our creator had always tell us to assist the needy, and that is why Kwamoti Laori will always prosper because of this. We will all the time pray for his guidance and protection. To the beneficiaries of this intervention, no matter how little you get, there are blessings in that. The Member did this whole-heartedly, representatives of the Muslim community here should also do justice and ensure only those suppose to have the items benefitted.’

Hama Bachama, Homun Daniel Ismail Shaga, represented by another Bachama Traditional Council’s member, Mr. Paul Simon, commended people of the area for living in peace and unity, as well as appreciating the royal father for sowing the seed of peace and unity. Appreciating Kwamoti Laori for exhibiting a good representation worthy of emulation.

‘We have nothing to say to the Member rather than praying for his continues success, protection and long life. The remaining political office holder in this area, we are also proud of you. Please emulate what this our representative is doing so that the democracy dividends will be in all parts of the constituency. This food items cannot go round, continue to be patience when you did not get it as tomorrow might be yours.’

The Chairman, Numan Muslim Council, Dr. Auwal Saleh Liman who spoke on behalf of the three recipients who collected the stuff for onward distribution to beneficiaries in their local governments, commended Barrister Kwamoti laori for giving them a sense of belonging, promising to pray for the growth and development of the entire constituency and its representative.

‘Actually, this gesture done by the Honourable Member, House of Representatives, Barrister Kwamoti Laori cannot be overemphasized. This act will make not only Muslims in Numan, Lamurde and Demsa happy, but shows a kind of generosity and a sense of belonging. We thank the Member for the intervention, we are assuring him that the food items are going to be distributed to the neediest Muslims in the constituency.’

Kwamoti Bitrus Laori is a house-hold name when it comes to empowerment and interventions in Numan, Lamurde and Demsa Federal Constituency, hoping other representatives will follow his footsteps to often alleviate the sufferings of their subjects and give them what they need.
