ADAMAWA STATE NUJ DISSOLVED CORRESPONDENTS' CHAPEL EXCO OVER RESIGNATION OF FOUR EXECUTIVES


 

Leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Council, has dissolved the Executive Arm of the Correspondents' Chapel of the union.

 

This followed the resignation of four out of the seven members of the EXCO.

 

Adamawa State NUJ statement signed by its Secretary, Comrade Fidelis Jockthan reveals that a 3-man electoral committee has been constituted to conduct fresh election, oversee the affairs of the Chapel and ensure stability pending the conduct of the election.

 

This was the outcome of an emergency meeting held between the State Council and members of the Correspondents' Chapel on Friday at the Chapel's Conference Hall.

 

Members of the Credentials Committee who were instantly inaugurated by the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan are: Daji Sani of Thisday Newspapers as Chairman; Talatu Maiwada of News Agency of Nigeria to serve as Secretary; while Yinka Awolabi Adenusi of TVC to serve as member.

 

The inaugurated Credentials Committee has also been directed to take inventory and custody of all assets of the union of the Chapel.

 

While inaugurating the committee, the Chairman charged them to work as a team and ensure peace and unity prevail in the Chapel.
